Bagley is a Managing Director of Blue Edge Capital and is involved in all areas of firm management, including serving on the firm’s investment committee and actively participating in portfolio management and research. Bagley’s over 25 years of direct industry experience has exposed him to all aspects of growing and managing a successful investment management business.
Bagley founded and grew Atlantic Capital Management, LLC into a leading multi-cap growth investment advisory company where he managed $700 million of equities on behalf of institutions and wealthy individuals. Prior to ACM, Bagley served as President and Managing Director of Scott & Stringfellow Capital Management, where he launched and grew a small cap growth portfolio to over $500 million in assets. Bagley was also a Portfolio Manager at The Bank of New York, where he directed both equity and balanced funds for institutions and individuals.
A Chartered Financial Analyst, Bagley received his Masters in Business Administration from the Columbia Business School and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. Active in the community, he currently serves as Trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee, Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia, which manages the Church Schools endowment. Bagley previously served as President and Member of the Foundation Board of St. Catherine’s School, where he directed the management of the school’s endowment. He is a current Board Member and past President of Elk Hill, an organization focused on at-risk children. In addition, he currently serves as Chairman of the Elk Hill Foundation. Bagley is also a member of the Richmond Symphony Foundation Board. He lives in Richmond with his wife and two children.
Peter is a Managing Director of Blue Edge Capital and is involved in all areas of firm management, including serving on the firm’s investment committee and actively participating in portfolio management and research. Peter has over 25 years of direct experience in the financial services industry, including equity research, investment management and investment banking capacities.
Prior to co-founding Blue Edge Capital, Peter was Managing Director at Harris Williams & Co., a leading mergers and acquisitions advisory firm. While at HW&Co., Peter closed more than 60 M&A transactions across a variety of sectors, including energy, building products, technology, and consumer products. His clients included many of the nation’s leading private equity groups as well as publicly and privately-held companies. Peter started his career as an equity research analyst for both Wheat First Butcher Singer (Richmond) and Snyder Capital Management (San Francisco).
Peter received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and his BA in Economics & Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been actively involved with a number of local non-profit organizations, including St. Catherine's School (Board of Governors), St. Catherine's School Foundation (past President), Sheltering Arms Hospital Corporation (Board of Trustees), Sheltering Arms Foundation (Vice-Chairman and Chair of the Investment Committee), Elk Hill (Board of Trustees and past Chair of the Budget Committee), and UNC-Chapel Hill (Board of Visitors).
Peter lives in Richmond with his wife Jakie and their three children.
Margaret serves as Blue Edge Capital’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. She is responsible for implementing and supervising all aspects of the firm’s operations, administration, compliance, and trading functions. Margaret has over 25 years of direct industry experience.
Margaret was most recently Chief Compliance Officer for Spider Management Company, a wholly-owned affiliate of the University of Richmond with $2.4 billion under management. In this capacity, she established compliance policies and procedures, developed a Code of Ethics for the Board of Spider and staff, and performed onsite manager due diligence. Margaret served for 11 years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Atlantic Capital Management (ACM), LLC, an investment management firm with $700 million under management on behalf of institutional, SMA, high net worth and models-based accounts. Prior to ACM, she was a trader and portfolio administrator for Scott and Stringfellow Capital Management and an institutional sales and trading specialist for Crestar Securities Corporation (now SunTrust Bank).
Margaret received her Bachelor of Science from James Madison University. She lives in Richmond with her husband and three children.
Chief Information Security Officer & Account Administrator
Meredith serves as Blue Edge Capital’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Account Administrator. As CISO, she developed and now maintains BEC’s Information Security Plan in accordance with guidelines for managing sensitive client data. She ensures all BEC employees are educated on cybersecurity best practices. Meredith is also involved in all aspects of BEC operations, including on-boarding new clients, executing trades to comply with BEC’s investment strategy and portfolio changes, and account management functions, working closely with account custodians. Further, Meredith helps construct and administer BEC’s policies and procedures in accordance with compliance requirements.
Meredith has been with BEC since 2014. She is a 1999 University of Virginia Engineering graduate and worked for Northrop Grumman as a software engineer for six years before taking time off to raise her three children.
Macon serves as Blue Edge Capital’s Director of Marketing & Client Strategy. She is responsible for client relationship management, building brand awareness, cultivating new partnerships, and overseeing the firm’s key marketing initiatives. Macon has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, including investment management, capital markets, and investment banking capacities.
Most recently, Macon was a Partner at Private Advisors, LLC, a leading alternative investment firm that manages over $4 billion on behalf of institutions and high net worth individuals. During her 10 years at Private Advisors, Macon was a member of the hedge fund investment committee with portfolio and relationship management responsibilities. In addition to determining asset allocations, she was focused on sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring hedge fund investments. Previously, Macon was an Associate in the Global Leveraged Finance Group at Lehman Brothers in New York City.
Macon received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. She is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA institute. She is actively involved with several local non-profit organizations, including St. Catherine’s School, where she is a current member of the Board of Governors and past President of the Foundation Board that oversees the school’s endowment. She also sits on the finance committee of Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia and is a member of the junior board of Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Hospital.
